I, Richard K. Bussey, am an IT and business systems consultant with over 40 years of experience helping organisations turn complicated business needs into scalable, dependable technical solutions. I specialise in translating what the business means into what technology actually needs to do—because “we just need it to work” has never passed a requirements review.
Over the years, I’ve led enterprise ERP implementations, cloud and data architecture initiatives, and system integrations in highly regulated environments. I’m known for asking uncomfortable questions early, documenting things clearly, and keeping projects moving when the room goes quiet and everyone suddenly looks at IT.
Outside of work, I’m a husband, father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather. I dearly love my wife, value family above job titles, and have a dry sense of humor that tends to surface once people realize I’m serious about the work—but not about myself. I enjoy fishing, still miss riding motorcycles (retired from riding, not from missing it), and have developed a strong appreciation for systems that are well-engineered and responsibly managed.
At the end of the day, I bring experience, clarity, and steady leadership to complex environments—without unnecessary buzzwords, theatrics, or chaos.
I help organisations build systems that work—without the chaos.
MrBussey Consulting LLC, an Ohio based consulting business, providing remote IT consulting services, exists to help organisations nationwide get control of their business systems, data, and processes—especially when growth, complexity, or regulation have made things harder than they need to be.

Telgian Corporation, Phoenix AZ | September 2022 – October 2025
Spearheaded project management of Dynamics 365 Field Service and Finance and Operations implementation from Dynamics AX 2012 R2. The project included custom application development for a Power Apps Canvas application designed for in-house inspectors, integrating seamlessly with the Field Service Dataverse. Additionally, the project encompassed data integration of Field Service with third-party client property management software solutions.
Managed contractors from multiple organisations and utilized Azure DevOps to oversee developers' tasks. I negotiated contracts for contractors involved in integrations and Dynamics 365 implementation and development, while effectively managing contract budgets and hours.
Personally developed data integration solutions with the Paycom payroll system, OptimoRoute scheduling software, and Deltek Vision ERP, utilizing Dynamics 365 Dataverse, C#, PowerShell, and Postman via REST APIs, as well as Dataverse Web APIs with ODATA and ODBC.
Architected a Medallion Architecture for centralised data management, leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics and Data Lake. The pipelines enabled the automated population of a Serverless SQL pool for SQL query consumption of data in reporting operations.
Created reports using SSRS and/or Power BI to analyze data from SQL databases (managed, Azure SQL, and on-premise) and Azure Synapse Analytics Serverless SQL Pool.
Developed automated processes to enhance finance and operations user efficiency and productivity in billing and client invoice resolution, saving countless man-hours. I also established automated processes for notifying internal users of upcoming resource deadlines and sending paperwork to clients, along with various other process improvements.
Provided tier III technical support for ERP systems.
AtriCure Inc., Mason OH | September 2013 – July 2022
Architected the migration of applications on physical hardware and software to Hyper-V/VMs across multiple datacenters and environments to comply with DTAP. Designed and maintained MS SQL HA in two datacenters. Installed, configured, and maintained software and related VMs in DTAP.
Led the migration of multiple DTAP environments from on-premise Hyper-V/VMs to Azure cloud resources, including IaaS and PaaS, as part of the broader application development strategy. Managed RDS (collections, remote apps/servers, access, etc.), IaaS MS SQL, PaaS MS SQL, software installation/configuration, and access to shared data and file resources.
Architected, implemented, and configured SQL ODS using PaaS MS SQL, Power BI service, and Azure Data Factory, enhancing data integration processes. Developed standards for use and configuration.
Served as the technical lead for ERP (Dynamics GP) upgrades, providing tier-3 support, SQL back-end maintenance, and support, while also focusing on Dynamics 365 implementation projects.
Acted as the Technical and Architect Team Lead on numerous projects related to Dynamics 365 Field Service, data integration, enterprise manufacturing labeling, ERP, SQL administration and maintenance, enterprise reporting, and ODS design and configuration.
Authored numerous technical documents, including SQL, SSRS reporting, and release management process standards, as well as process flow and architecture diagrams for automated processes. Established standards for SQL, PowerShell, Reporting, and SDLC, encompassing the ERP software/enhancement delivery process and all software application changes/enhancements.
Developed custom applications and services utilising Microsoft C# to automate and streamline data extraction and FTP transfer, saving numerous man-hours (~100hrs/month). Created automated processes for maintenance and routine tasks using various languages, resulting in significant man-hour savings (thousands per year).
Comprehensive Computer Solutions, Christiansburg VA | October 2010 – July 2013
Managed Dynamics GP with a focus on manufacturing and Dynamics CRM, as well as overseeing enterprise applications that directly supported the Dynamics products, including Scribe Insight, Collect for GP, MS SQL, BigMachines, Targit, MS IIS, MS Terminal Services Gateway, and various internally developed custom MVC web applications/tools.
As a software developer and a senior member of the applications team, I was involved in application development, where I wrote and maintained numerous custom MVC web applications/tools specifically designed to support manufacturing, purchasing, order logistics, sales, accounting, warehouse, and shipping functions. These applications/tools seamlessly integrated with Dynamics GP and Dynamics CRM through MS SQL in a CRUD capacity, enhancing data integration across the platforms.
In my role as a senior member of the applications team, I also acted as a mentor to junior developers, providing guidance in analysis, problem-solving, and resolution management. I managed the tasks and projects of junior team members until we successfully implemented the KanBan process for all development projects, optimizing our Dynamics 365 implementation.

Owned design, implementation, and operations of a multi-state WAN spanning eight offices across seven states. Led a major network modernisation initiative, replacing legacy ATM infrastructure with a TCP/IP-based Frame Relay WAN. Rapidly mastered Cisco IOS and 3810 routers to implement backbone connectivity and integrate telephone switches for Voice over Frame Relay—well ahead of mainstream VoIP adoption—eliminating interoffice long-distance costs.
Directed enterprise-wide migrations from Novell NetWare to Windows NT, upgraded all workstations to newer operating systems, standardised all network protocols to TCP/IP, and replaced GroupWare with Microsoft Exchange.
Despite complex technical and operational challenges, successfully connected all eight offices on schedule and within budget.
